Cutler Fossil Site

Located on the Charles Deering Estate, the fossil site is located at a sinkhole in Palmetto Bay. The bones of Pleistocene animals and artifacts of Paleo-Indians have been excavated at the site. The site was not discovered until 1979, and excavation began in 1985. At the time, the sinkhole was 16 feet above sea level. However, in the Pleistocene era, it was over 330 feet above sea level and many miles from the sea.

Lakes by the Bay Park

This 45-acre multi-use park offers three baseball fields, four batting cages, two soccer fields used for football and lacrosse, a .6 mile exercise path, a playground, and a concession building. There is a canoe/kayak launch site where you can also join monthly kayak tours. Adjacent to the Lakes by the Bay Park is the 47 acre Miami-Dade County Park.

Burr's Berry Farm

Burr's Berry Farm has been in operation for over 60 years offering seasonally grown tomatoes, strawberries, sunflowers, bell-peppers, snapdragons, herbs, and lettuce. There are field trips, hay wagon rides, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches to explore. The farm stand sells hot dogs, milkshakes, baked goods, juices, and fresh vegetables. Burr's Berry Farm is a great place to spend quality time with the family.
